-1-2 bars of pure, unsweetened dark chocolate or cacao
-1/2 cup of honey
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1 cup superfood blend/toppings
(i.e. pumpkin seeds, slivered almonds, dried goji/blueberry/cranberry, etc.)
Break up chocolate and place in sauce pan.
Put pan inside of another sauce pan that has water. (aka double boiling)
(This helps to keep your chocolate from clumping or burning!)
Start cooking on LOW.
Continue cooking until chocolate melts.
Continually stir and DO NOT walk away!
No-one likes burnt chocolate!
Once chocolate starts to melt, add a little honey.
Stir and taste.
Add more if it's not sweet enough.
Repeat until you get the desired sweetness.
Once sweetness is achieved and chocolate is completely melted,
spread out chocolate on either wax paper or silipat/baking sheet.
Add superfood blend on chocolate immediately after.
Spread out and smush in (not super hard, just enough to make them stick!)
Stick in freezer for minimum 30-60 minutes.
Once hardened, break chocolate apart into smaller 'bark' pieces.
This definitely is NOT a guilt free treat, BUT at least you're getting super foods in while eating it!
This is a great alternative to milk chocolate and pre-made chocolates.
Super yum, and packed with nutrients.
