Who doesn't love oatmeal? It's a heart healthy, delicious breakfast (or any other meal) choice.
I know we're all used to the traditional warm, sugar filled oatmeal that comes in packets (well, hopefully not!), so I'm not going to lie. This is VERY different, but just as delicious....and much healthier ;)
You can make these refrigerated, overnight oats, and grab and go for an easy, healthy, delicious breakfast!
-1/2 cup old fashioned oats
-1/2 cup water
-1-2 tbsp (or more) greek yogurt
-1-2 tsp honey
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-1/2 cup fruit (fresh or frozen)
-1-2 tbsp chopped nuts, dark chocolate chips,
cocoa powder, coconut flakes, peanut butter, etc.
In mason jars, add base ingredients.
Add in fruit.
Add mix ins.
Jar 1: Strawberries, almonds, coconut flakes.
Jar 2: Raspberries, dark chocolate chips.
Jar 3: Blueberries, crunchy peanut butter.
Close lids on jars.
Store in refrigerator overnight.
Oats will soak up the water and yogurt.
**You CAN heat this up if you'd like, but it's delicious straight out of the fridge!**
These are good for about 5 days after making them!
There are so many ways that you can mix and match the fruits and mix ins.
P.S. My son LOVES these!!!
(And so do I!)
